The Macallan M Black 2018 Single Malt Scotch Whiskey

The Macallan M Black is the latest and most complex expression sitting at the pinnacle of the prestigious Masters Series. This limited release showcases a decanter that provides a striking complement to a subtly smoky Macallan. An evolution of the iconic M decanter, the lustrous black Lalique crystal was crated to embody the diverse history of The Macallan. Representing a lifetime of whisky, M Black encapsulates absolute time distilled. Crafted from just six sherry-seasoned casks, three butts and three hogsheads, it tells the story of exceptional cask ageing and the craft of whisky making. With the predomit influence of European oak, this first release delivers dark fruit, chocolate, wood spice and an edge of peat aromas. The intensity of smoke increases on the palate, complementing the flavors of green apples, citrus and dried fruits. Designed by Fabien Baron, the decanter's iconic geometric form pushes the boundaries of traditional decanter design, with the six facets paying homage to The Macallan's heritage, the Six Pillars. With this aesthetic evolution, M Black is fashioned in the highest-grade black crystal, with each handcrafted decanter uniting tradition with striking originality.
