DESCRIPTION
Barrell Bourbon Batch 038: A Cask Strength Salute to America's 250th
Barrell Bourbon Batch 038 blends straight bourbons from four states: a 12 year from Kentucky, 12 and 15 year bourbons from Tennessee, 9 and 10 year from Indiana and an 8 year from Maryland. The result is bottled at cask strength, 116.96 proof, with a derived mash bill of 79% corn, 17% rye and 4% malted barley.
Neat, it is deep and woody with an earthy, brooding palate and fine tannins that carry into a long finish. A splash of water reveals a sweeter side with confetti cake, lemon jelly and mango.
Barrell Craft Spirits in Louisville, Kentucky, built its reputation on sourcing exceptional barrels from across the country and blending them at cask strength. Every numbered batch is a one time recipe, so no two releases taste alike.
Batch 038 wears a special red, white and blue label commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. That limited design and its mature blend make it a natural collectible and an ideal patriotic gift.
