Barrell Seagrass: A Tropical, Coastal Twist on Cask Strength Rye
Barrell Seagrass blends rye whiskeys from Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Canada, with each component finished separately in casks that once held Martinique rhum agricole, Malmsey Madeira or apricot brandy. It is bottled at cask strength without chill filtration.
The result is a rye like no other: sun ripened apricot and herbal notes on the nose, a sweet, round palate of apple, pear and grapefruit over a firm rye backbone, and a saline finish that evokes the seaside.
Barrell Craft Spirits in Louisville, Kentucky, is known for sourcing exceptional barrels and blending them into inventive cask strength releases. Seagrass launched in 2021 and quickly became one of the brand's signature bottles.
Seagrass earned Double Gold at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and its unusual finishes make it a favorite among rye fans and adventurous drinkers. It is a gift that surprises even seasoned whiskey lovers.
