Calumet Farm Single Rack Black Centennial Celebration: One Hundred Years In One Bottle
In 1924 Calumet Farm opened its gates in Lexington, Kentucky, and went on to produce more Kentucky Derby winners than any stable in history. The Centennial Celebration bottling marks that hundred year run, and the label wears the dates plainly: 1924 to 2024.
This release sits inside the Single Rack Black series, built from hand selected barrels off the center cut rack in batches of roughly ten. The mash bill is Calumet's signature high rye recipe of 74 percent corn, 18 percent rye, and 8 percent malted barley, bottled at a full 100 proof and non chill filtered. The extra proof and the untouched filtration give it more weight on the palate than the standard range, which is exactly what an anniversary bottling should deliver.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Cherry preserve, vanilla bean, cinnamon, and seasoned oak
- Palate: Rich and full at 100 proof: dark caramel, rye pepper, baked apple, and cocoa
