DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
A Mediterranean red vermouth with orange peel and olive leaf
Casals Vermouth Rojo comes from Penedès, Spain, made from a Casals family recipe from Pepa and Juvi Casals. Its botanicals include orange peel and olive leaves, which give it a distinctly Mediterranean character. It is bottled at 16% ABV. Spanish-style vermut like this is meant for easy sipping as well as cocktails.
Expect warm red fruit and citrus peel with a gently herbal, savory bitterness. Serve it the Spanish way, on ice with an orange slice and an olive, or use it to bring something new to a Negroni.
Tasting Notes
- Color: Deep reddish amber
- Nose: Orange peel and herbs
- Palate: Sweet red fruit and citrus with a savory, herbal edge from olive leaf
- Finish: Gently bitter and refreshing
How to Enjoy
- Spanish vermut hour: over ice with an orange slice and a green olive
- Topped with soda water for a light spritz
