Chuck Wagner founded Caymus Vineyards in 1972, and the Special Selection he produced in 1976 went on to win the Paris wine tasting that changed the world's view of California wine. The standard Napa Valley Cabernet became its own icon in the decades that followed: consistently ripe, opulent, and full of the dark fruit, cocoa, and vanilla character that defines Caymus. It is the Cabernet that introduced a generation of wine drinkers to what Napa could do.
The 2023 continues that tradition. Full-bodied and velvety, with blackberry, plum, and cassis on the nose, layered with cocoa, vanilla, and warm spice, and a long, polished finish that rewards patience in the glass.
