Chinaco Blanco: A Coastal Tequila Unlike Anything From Jalisco
Chinaco Blanco is made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in Tamaulipas, on Mexico's Gulf side, far from the usual Jalisco highlands. The coastal soil and sea air give the agave a mineral, slightly briny edge layered over bright citrus and pear.
La Gonzalena bottles this blanco fresh, shortly after distillation, so the cooked agave character stays vivid and clean. The result is crisp and peppery with real depth, a blanco that agave fans sip neat and bartenders reach for in premium margaritas.
Chinaco is produced by the family owned La Gonzalena distillery (NOM 1127), founded in Tamaulipas in 1972 and still the only tequila maker in the state. Through the 1980s it became one of the first premium 100% agave tequilas sold in the United States.
The name honors the Chinacos, Mexican horsemen remembered for their role in the 1862 Battle of Puebla. Collectors prize Chinaco for its distinct terroir, and its redesigned heritage bottle makes it an easy, meaningful gift.
