95 Point Liquid Gold Bourbon in a Collector Baseball Decanter
Cooperstown Select Straight Bourbon, rated 95 points and Liquid Gold in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible, in a limited edition glass baseball decanter. The four-grain mash bill of corn, rye, oats and barley is all New York State grown and aged at least three years in new charred oak.
At 100 proof it is rich and layered, with creme brulee, burnt caramel and chocolate over warm clove and allspice.
Cooperstown Distillery is a craft farm distillery in Cooperstown, New York, the home of the Baseball Hall of Fame. It works with New York State grains and small-batch methods, and its sports decanters have become some of the most collected bottles in American craft whiskey.
The limited edition baseball decanters are produced in small runs and rarely restocked.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Clove, allspice, light earthy notes and char
- Palate: Creme brulee, burnt caramel, chocolate and honey
- Finish: Smooth and delicate with nutmeg, butterscotch and honey
How to Enjoy
- Neat or with a splash of water: A few drops open up the aromatics and soften the proof.
- Old Fashioned: 2 oz whiskey, 1 sugar cube, 2 dashes Angostura bitters, orange peel. Stir over a large ice cube.
- Boulevardier: 1.5 oz bourbon, 1 oz Campari, 1 oz sweet vermouth. Stir and strain over ice.
