Sweet, honeyed Highland malt with a virgin oak finish.
Deanston began life in 1785 as a cotton mill on the banks of the River Teith in the Scottish Highlands, designed by Richard Arkwright, inventor of the spinning frame. The mill closed in 1965 but its sturdy stone walls, constant access to fresh River Teith water, and natural underground warehousing made it a perfect distillery site. Today it is the heart of its community and one of Scotland's most environmentally progressive distilleries, largely powered by its own hydroelectric turbines.
The Virgin Oak expression is aged in Kentucky-made virgin American oak barrels, which impart an unusually intense, sweet vanilla and honey character with warm baking spice. Bottled at 46.3% ABV without chill filtration to preserve every note.
