Dewar's 12 Year Blended Scotch Whisky comes from John Dewar & Sons, one of the first houses to blend Scotch and put its name on the bottle as a mark of quality. Founder John Dewar passed the craft to his son John Alexander, who began double aging the blends in the company cellars. That double aging, which includes time in first-fill bourbon casks, is still central to this 12 year expression.
The house describes it in three words: rich, smooth, oak. It is an easy Scotch to love, with honeyed sweetness and gentle wood, and it works neat, on the rocks, or in a classic highball.
