No Sulfites Added, USDA Organic, And Still A Real Cabernet
Virgen is Domaine Bousquet's answer to a question customers keep asking: can you make a clean, full bodied red with nothing added. The range is USDA certified organic, vegan, and made with no sulfites added, from estate fruit at roughly 4,000 feet in the Uco Valley.
Altitude is the trick. Cold nights and intense sun give thick skins, deep color, and natural acidity, which is exactly what a wine needs when it has no added SO2 to lean on. The result is dark, fruit forward, and food friendly.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Blackcurrant, dark cherry, subtle sweet spice.
- Palate: Full bodied and juicy with ripe black fruit and smooth, rounded tannin.
- Finish: Clean and fruit driven with a soft close.
