Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. is called the father of the modern bourbon industry for good reason. In 1870 he bought a distillery on the Kentucky River and christened it O.F.C., Old Fashioned Copper, the site known today as Buffalo Trace. He insisted the finest whiskey could only be made in wood fired copper stills, and he was the driving force behind the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897, the law that finally guaranteed American whiskey drinkers what was actually inside the bottle.

This bourbon is the direct expression of that standard: 50% alcohol by volume, 100 proof, bottled in bond, from this limited Fall 2025 bottling. Taylor's signature on the label was his pledge of quality, and this whiskey is built to honor it rather than chase a trend.
