DESCRIPTION

Japanese bitter orange, doubled. A sunny citrus gin gift boxed with an engraved glass.

Etsu Double Orange: Japanese Gin With a Bright Bitter Orange Heart

Etsu Double Orange puts Japanese bitter orange peel center stage alongside juniper, coriander, licorice root and angelica. The botanicals macerate for seven days before distillation at the Akita Distillery in northern Honshu.

Bright orange and lemon aromas lead into a fresh citrus palate with gentle herbs and light spice. Softened with water from Japan's Ou Mountains to 43%, it is lively in a highball and smooth enough to sip cold.

Etsu, whose name means joy or pleasure in Japanese, is known for citrus forward gin built around native Japanese botanicals. The Double series amplifies one citrus at a time, and this edition celebrates orange.

Boxed with an engraved glass, it makes a cheerful, giftable bottle for gin and tonic lovers and anyone building a Japanese spirits collection.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Bright orange peel, lemon zest, juniper and soft florals
