DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
A Modern Kentucky Bourbon Built for Sipping
Frank August Small Batch is a blend of hand-selected Kentucky straight bourbon barrels, bottled at a full 100 proof. Expect deep caramel and toffee up front, orchard fruit through the middle and a warm rye-spice finish.
It is the kind of bourbon that rewards slow sipping and stands up in a cocktail without disappearing.
Frank August was founded to bring a modern point of view to bourbon. Rather than chase age statements, the team blends carefully selected Kentucky barrels for balance and depth.
The Small Batch is the flagship of the line and the bottle most fans start with.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Caramel, toffee, butterscotch, green apple and cinnamon
- Palate: Caramel, vanilla, pear, baked apple and warm spice
- Finish: Rye spice, white pepper, nutmeg and oak with a hint of raisin
How to Enjoy
- Neat or with a splash of water: A few drops open up the aromatics and soften the proof.
- Old Fashioned: 2 oz whiskey, 1 sugar cube, 2 dashes Angostura bitters, orange peel. Stir over a large ice cube.
- Gold Rush: 2 oz bourbon, 0.75 oz honey syrup, 0.75 oz fresh lemon. Shake with ice and strain over a large cube.
- Gift it: The heavy, minimalist bottle looks great on a shelf and is a smart pick for a bourbon lover who has tried the usual names.
