DESCRIPTION

A classic sweet red vermouth from California. Herbal, lightly sweet, and the go-to value bottle for Manhattans and Negronis.

The Bar Staple Behind the Classics.

Gallo Sweet Vermouth is a red vermouth built for mixing. It brings gentle herbal notes, soft caramel sweetness, and a touch of dried fruit that round out whiskey, gin, and bitter aperitifs. At 16% ABV, it is the quiet ingredient that turns a pour of bourbon into a Manhattan and ties a Negroni together, all at a price that makes it easy to keep on hand.

Buy a single 750ml bottle for the home bar, or order a case of 12 if you run a bar, host often, or mix a lot of classics.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Herbal and aromatic with hints of caramel and dried fruit
  • Palate: Lightly sweet with caramel, dried fruit, and gentle herbal bitterness
  • Finish: Smooth and herbal with a soft, sweet close

How to Enjoy

  • Manhattan: 2 oz rye or bourbon, 1 oz Gallo Sweet Vermouth, 2 dashes aromatic bitters. Stir with ice, strain, and garnish with a cherry.
  • Negroni: 1 oz gin, 1 oz Gallo Sweet Vermouth, 1 oz Campari. Stir over ice and garnish with an orange peel.
  • Americano: 1.5 oz Campari and 1.5 oz Gallo Sweet Vermouth over ice, topped with soda water.
  • On the Rocks: Pour 2 to 3 oz over ice with an orange slice for a simple aperitif.

What Makes It Special

Gallo is one of the best known names in American wine, founded in Modesto, California, and its sweet vermouth has long been a value staple behind bars across the country. Vermouth is a fortified, aromatized wine, flavored with botanicals and lightly sweetened, and it is a key ingredient in many of the world's most famous cocktails. Tip: like any wine, vermouth is best kept in the fridge after opening to stay fresh.
