Eight years in charred oak, then chilled and charcoal filtered the Tennessee way.
George Dickel has been making whisky at Cascade Hollow in Tennessee since 1870, and its signature is the chilled charcoal mellowing process, applied at a colder temperature than other Tennessee distillers use, which Dickel credits for the extra smoothness in its whisky. This 8 Year Small Batch is its handcrafted bourbon expression, aged in charred oak barrels and blended to show off what eight years and that filtration process can produce.
Sweet up front, layered through the middle, and finishing long and nutty, it is a bourbon that earns its place on any shelf at this price point.
