A Cabernet Made With No Added Sulphites
Gerard Bertrand's Naturae range exists for one reason: wine with no added sulphites and no additives, so that people who react to sulfites can still drink well. The winery has spent years developing the sulphite free winemaking expertise that makes this possible without the wine falling apart.
The Cabernet is organic and vegan, grown in the south of France, and it tastes generous and intensely fruity rather than austere. Note the honest wording: no sulphites added. All wine contains a trace of naturally occurring sulfites from fermentation, and no wine on earth is truly sulfite free.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Ripe blackcurrant, red plum, a lift of fresh herb.
- Palate: Bright and intensely fruity, medium to full, with supple tannin and no rough edges.
- Finish: Fresh, clean, and pure fruited.
How to Enjoy
- Roast chicken, grilled vegetables, or a simple steak frites.
- Cheese board with a soft washed rind.
- Serve slightly cool, 60 to 62 degrees, and drink within a day or two of opening since there is no added SO2 to protect it.
