Double Rye, Rested In High West's Own Gin Barrels
High West took Double Rye, its blend of young peppery rye and older mellow rye, and finished it in barrels that previously held the distillery's own barrel rested gin. Juniper and mountain botanicals meet rye mint and pepper, which turns out to be a natural pairing.
Barrel Select releases are small, batch specific bottlings that never repeat exactly. At 100 proof this one is both a curiosity and a genuinely great cocktail whiskey.
