At 20.1 percent it is the stronger of the two Chamisul bottlings, with more body and a deeper grain character than Fresh. It is filtered through bamboo charcoal, which is what gives it that clean edge despite the higher proof. The name means dew, and the toad on the label turns blue when the bottle is properly cold.

HiteJinro traces back to 1924, making it a century old, and Chamisul launched in 1998 with the bamboo charcoal filtration that defined the modern style. The ABV has been walked down over the years from 23 percent to today's 20.1. The label carries an Asiatic toad, the company mascot, printed in temperature sensitive ink so it signals when the bottle is cold enough to pour.
