DESCRIPTION

Springbank's heavily peated alter ego. Campbeltown smoke with a coastal soul.

Longrow Peated: Big Campbeltown Smoke, Beautifully Balanced

Longrow Peated is the heavily peated single malt made at Springbank Distillery, double distilled for a weightier, smokier spirit. It pairs bonfire smoke with sweet fruit, vanilla and the briny, oily character Campbeltown is known for.

This no age statement bottling is crafted from a mix of cask types and bottled at 46% without chill filtration or added color. It is smoky but never harsh, a peated malt with real depth and elegance.

Longrow was first distilled at Springbank in 1973, created to prove that a heavily peated whisky in the Islay style could be made on the mainland. The name comes from a historic Campbeltown distillery that once stood next to Springbank.

Like all Springbank spirits, Longrow is made in small quantities with barley malted on site. Peat lovers prize it as a more nuanced alternative to Islay malts, making it a memorable gift for anyone who loves smoke.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: peat smoke, sea salt, pear, vanilla and a hint of iodine
  • Palate: oily and full with smoked malt, citrus, toffee, black pepper and brine
  • Finish: long and smoky with sweet peat, ash and lingering salt

How to Enjoy

  • Neat: Pour a measure and let it breathe to reveal the fruit beneath the smoke.
  • With water: A few drops soften the peat and bring out sweeter malt notes.
  • Cocktail: Smoky Old Fashioned. Stir 2 oz Longrow Peated, 0.25 oz demerara syrup and 2 dashes orange bitters with ice, strain over a large cube and express an orange peel.
  • Gift it: The perfect pick for the peat head who thinks they have tried it all.
