📖 The Matusalem Story

In 1872, brothers Benjamin and Eduardo Camp left Spain and settled in Santiago de Cuba, bringing with them the Solera blending tradition used in Spanish cognac and sherry production. For decades Matusalem was the premier rum of Cuba's Golden Age, the era when Hemingway lived there and celebrities made Havana their playground. After the Castro revolution in 1959, the Camp family went into exile and eventually reestablished production in the Dominican Republic, preserving every detail of the original recipe. The name Matusalem comes from the biblical figure Methuselah, who lived 969 years. The idea was timelessness. One taste and you understand why.
