MD 20/20 comes from Mogen David, a winery that got its start supplying wine for Jewish religious holidays before Mad Dog became the product it is best known for. Red Grape Wine is the flavor that started the entire lineup, the one every other Mad Dog flavor gets measured against. The name traces back to the original format of 20 percent ABV in a 20 ounce bottle, shortened over the decades to the nickname everyone actually uses.
