Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin is built on 47 hand-selected botanicals, many of them locally foraged from the Black Forest itself. Lingonberries, spruce shoots, cranberry, blackberry, jasmine, lavender, lemongrass, cardamom, cubeb pepper, and dozens more are macerated for 36 hours in pure molasses alcohol and soft Black Forest spring water before distillation. The spirit is then rested in traditional earthenware containers for three months.
At 47% ABV this is a gin that rewards patience and attention. Every sip reveals something new. No two people describe it the same way. Endlessly complex, beautifully balanced, and unlike anything else in the category.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Lavender, chamomile, lemon verbena, cardamom, and fresh mint with ginger, lemongrass, lingonberry, and jasmine weaving deeper.
- Palate: An extraordinary cascade of mint, blackberry, lemon, cranberry, cinnamon, orange peel, black pepper, and spruce. Cool and slightly dry with a silky texture.
