The Oban Distillery is one of the oldest and smallest in Scotland, making single malt since 1794 from a spot nestled between granite cliffs and the sea in the West Highland harbor town of the same name. The town literally grew up around the distillery, founded by the pioneering Stevenson brothers.

The Distillers Edition takes Oban's signature coastal malt and double matures it in ex-bodega Montilla Fino sherry cask wood, layering rich fruitiness over the classic sea-air and gentle smoke. The result is a complex, rewarding dram at 43% ABV that rewards slow sipping.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Complex salty sea air, orange, and hints of smoke.
  • Palate: Rich fruitiness and maritime flavors from the Montilla Fino cask.
  • Finish: Sweetened Jamaican coffee and oak, with an attractive malt-biscuit fade.
