In 1870, George Garvin Brown crafted batches of whisky at 322 W. Main St. on Louisville's Whiskey Row by blending barrels from three different distilleries' warehouses to achieve consistency, and in doing so created the first bourbon sold exclusively in sealed glass. Old Forester 1870 Original Batch recreates that method with three separate batches of barrels, bottled at 90 proof.

Old Forester is the only bourbon continuously sold by the same family before, during and after Prohibition. The Whiskey Row series walks through pivotal years in that history, and 1870 is where all of it starts.
