The Beer They Actually Pour at Oktoberfest
Paulaner has been brewing its Oktoberfest Bier since 1818, the year the brewery first got its license to serve on the Wiesn meadow. This is the golden, bottom fermented lager that fills the steins inside the Paulaner Festzelt every autumn, not a seasonal approximation of it. It is Germany's best selling Oktoberfest beer for a reason.
Where the amber Marzen leans malty and toasty, the Oktoberfest Bier goes the other direction. It is brighter, cleaner, and built to be drunk by the liter without wearing you out. The brewers call it liquid gold. Pilsner and Munich malts give it body, Herkules and Hallertauer Tradition hops keep the finish crisp.
Tasting Notes

The Story
Oktoberfest began in 1810 as a royal wedding celebration, and the beer huts arrived on the meadow eight years later. Paulaner has been part of it ever since, and today serves three of the festival's big tents. Only six Munich breweries are legally permitted to pour at Oktoberfest, and Paulaner is one of them. Brewed under the Reinheitsgebot purity law of 1516, the recipe uses nothing but water, malt, hops, and yeast.
