DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
A 36% rye mash bill for a bourbon with real spice and backbone
Redemption High Rye Bourbon is a straight bourbon built on a mash of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% barley. That high rye content gives it a distinct, spicy character. It is aged in new charred oak barrels and bottled at 92 proof. The whiskey is distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, then batched and barreled in Bardstown, Kentucky, with the batching done to taste for consistency.
The name nods to rye reclaiming its status as America's top whiskey before Prohibition. Expect vanilla and red fruit up front, then pepper, mint and gentle licorice. It is a great sipper for spice lovers and a natural fit in an Old Fashioned.
Tasting Notes
