Sazerac 18 Year Old is the crown of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection and the benchmark for aged American rye. Bottled at 45% alcohol by volume, 90 proof, from this Fall 2025 release, it trades brute strength for balance: eighteen years in the warehouse have sanded the rye spice down into something silky, layered, and remarkably composed.

The story starts at the Sazerac Coffee House, founded in 1850 at 13 Exchange Alley in New Orleans. The house bought straight rye from Kentucky, shipped it down by flatboat, and served it with Peychaud's Bitters, Herbsaint, and a lump of sugar. That drink became America's first cocktail. After a 110 year absence, the Sazerac Company brought the original Kentucky rye back as this 18 year old bottling. There is nothing else quite like it.
