The original Oktoberfest beer, an amber Munich Marzen.
Spaten has been brewing in Munich since 1397 and is credited with creating the very first Oktoberfest beer in 1872, making it the benchmark for the entire Marzen style. Brewed to the German purity law from Alpine water, barley malt, hops, and yeast, this is the darker, maltier Ur-Marzen sold internationally, distinct from the paler Festbier poured on the Munich fairgrounds today.
It pours a deep amber and leans into toasted, bready malt with a caramel sweetness and just enough hop bitterness to stay clean and drinkable. This case is built for a party, a cookout, or stocking the fridge through the fall festival season.
