The Yamazaki 12 Year Old comes from Japan's first and oldest malt distillery, established in 1923 by Suntory founder Shinjiro Torii on the periphery of Kyoto. The region, formerly known as Minaseno, is renowned for its soft waters, and Yamazaki's misty climate of shifting temperature and humidity creates ideal conditions for maturing whisky.

Yamazaki is the pioneer of single malt Japanese whisky and the bottle most collectors point to first. Through the art of Tsukuriwake, diverse fermentation, distillation and maturation techniques, including Mizunara Japanese oak, build the deep and multi layered profile that made this expression famous worldwide.
