DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
Hunter Valley Semillon from a single vineyard, with years in bottle already on its side
Tyrrell's HVD Semillon comes from the HVD single vineyard in Australia's Hunter Valley, the region that made Semillon its signature white grape. Tyrrell's is a family winery with five generations of winemaking behind the label. This is the 2017 vintage, bottled at a light 11% ABV under screw cap, which is the classic Hunter approach: early picked, unoaked, and built to develop in the bottle.
Expect a lean, precise white that trades big fruit for citrus, freshness, and a quiet savory edge that grows with time. It is a great bottle for anyone who loves dry Riesling or Chablis and wants to try one of Australia's most distinctive whites.
Tasting Notes
- Color: Pale to medium straw.
- Nose: Lemon, lime zest, and fresh herbs, with gentle toasty notes that come with bottle age.
- Palate: Dry, light bodied, and crisp, with citrus and a clean mineral line.
- Finish: Long, bright, and refreshing.
How to Enjoy
- Serve chilled, around 45 to 50 degrees F.
- Pair with oysters, grilled fish, or fish tacos.
- Try it with goat cheese salads or herb roasted chicken.
- Open now or cellar a little longer to watch it develop.
