Vie di Romans is one of Friuli's most respected producers, and Vieris is its benchmark take on Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit comes from low-yield vineyards in the Isonzo area of northeastern Italy, and the wine sees extended lees aging for concentration and texture. Instead of the grassy, punchy style many people expect, Vieris leans into complexity, structure, and finesse. The 2020 vintage shows purity and power while staying refined.
This is a full, textured white that rewards attention, and it keeps opening up in the glass. Pick it up if you enjoy serious white Burgundy or top Loire Sauvignon and want something a little different.
