Wolves x Willett Batch 3: The Only 10 Year Rye in the Collab Series
Batch 3 of the Wolves x Willett collaboration is a blend of 10 year old straight rye whiskeys bottled at 103 proof. It is the only release in the series to carry an age statement.
Willett hand selected 10 year old Kentucky rye barrels, while Wolves head blender Eddie Gonzalez chose a 10 year old rye that spent seven years in Indiana and three more in Northern California. The two meet in a rich, balanced rye with soft spice and deep caramel.
Wolves is a California whiskey brand founded in 2015 by James Bond of UNDEFEATED and Jon Buscemi, known for small, design driven releases. Willett Family Estate, founded in 1936 in Bardstown, is still run by the Willett family and is one of the most respected names in American whiskey.
With just 75 barrels in the release and a $355 suggested price at the brand's own store, this bottle sits at the intersection of streetwear culture and serious whiskey collecting. Expect it to vanish fast.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: orange peel, caramel, honeysuckle and baking spice
- Palate: gingerbread, tobacco, toasted nuts, brown sugar and dark fruit

- Neat: Sip from a Glencairn to catch every layer of the dual origin blend.
- On a rock: One large ice cube softens the spice and brings out the caramel.
- Old Fashioned: Stir 2 oz rye, 1/4 oz demerara syrup and 2 dashes Angostura bitters with ice, then express an orange peel over the top.
